Inspired by minimal art music, including the works of Phillip Glass and Steve Reich, Myrte Hiss has been captivated by the hypnotic allure of repetitive music patterns and harmonious sounds since a young age.

In contrast, she grew up with Dutch trance, hardcore and hardstyle music in the ’90’s and ’00’s, later shifting her focus to techno. Myrte is a raver at heart with a soft spot for the harder styles.

This combination is reflected in her music, where she blends repetitive spacey melodies with intense bass sounds. Her sets are high in energy yet flowy.

Between 2013 and 2023, Myrte lived on the Caribbean island Bonaire. With no techno scene and a scarcity of good electronic dance music in general, Myrte created a scene with a handful of other music enthusiasts. This is where she established her name in the region.

 Residing in the tropics for a decade, Myrte absorbed organic sounds, infectious Latin beats, whispers of indigenous traditional music, and the vibrant energy of Afro house. It was here that her alias, Lamírla, was born – the lighter side of Myrte Hiss.

As a resident DJ at various beach clubs, Lamírla is renowned for her extended sets (6+ hours), which reflect her passion for flowy, spacey melodies, and harmonious natural sounds.

In 2022, she introduced Ecstatic Dance on Bonaire, creating musical journeys and safe spaces for people to experience natural highs and emotional releases through music.

With an ongoing drive for connecting, learning, and self-development, Myrte returned to the Netherlands in 2023 to create room for more growth in the next phase of her music career.
